For the very first time, SEAACC is collaborating with community partners to host a multicultural Spring Festival on May 20, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Tenderloin Recreation Center. This is a FREE public event. Cultural performances will include representation from the Cambodian, Burmese, Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino, Hmong, Mongolian, Yemen, and Latinx communities in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
The San Francisco Bay Area’s diverse communities celebrate many occasions and holidays in the first few months of the year, including the New Year which occurs in different months according to different cultures’ calendars, and the celebration of the arrival of Spring. This year, SEAACC and its community partners collaborated to put on this 2023 Spring Festival to share and highlight the beauty of different New Year traditions and Spring celebrations of various cultural and ethnic groups which are a part of the Tenderloin community.
