Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival Report - 2014

On Saturday Sept. 6th, 2014, hundreds of families from all over the Bay Area gathered at the Tenderloin Recreation Center to celebrate the 4th Annual Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival. Hosted by the Southeast Asian Arts & Culture Coalition, this event brings together local organizations from the Cambodian, Laos, Burmese, Thai, and Vietnamese community to partake in dance, music, food sampling, and historical appreciation.

On September 6th, 2014, we invite you to attend the fourth Southeast Asian Arts & Culture Exhibition celebrating the harvest season! The Exhibition helps promote and preserve the arts and culture of the Southeast Asian American communities in San Francisco, and specifically highlights the Indo-Chinese refugee communities which have a history in the Tenderloin.

Asian Heritage Street Festival - 2014

Event details: “Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at the10th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in front of the Asian Art Museum, leading up to the Little Saigon District in San Francisco. Street fair goers will have the chance to learn how to cook delicious pan Asian dishes at the AHSC cooking demonstration stage located at Ellis and Larkin Streets, by celebrity chefs including Martin Yan.

Vietnamese Tet Lunar New Year Festival - 2014

The Lunar New Year festival is based on the Lunar Calendar that many Eastern countries have followed in the past, where the New Year begins in February. This is different than the modern Western calendar where the New Year begins on January 1st.
