Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival Report - 2014

On Saturday Sept. 6th, 2014, hundreds of families from all over the Bay Area gathered at the Tenderloin Recreation Center to celebrate the 4th Annual Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival. Hosted by the Southeast Asian Arts & Culture Coalition, this event brings together local organizations from the Cambodian, Laos, Burmese, Thai, and Vietnamese community to partake in dance, music, food sampling, and historical appreciation.

On Saturday Sept. 6th, 2014, hundreds of families from all over the Bay Area gathered at the Tenderloin Recreation Center to celebrate the 4th Annual Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival. Hosted by the Southeast Asian Arts & Culture Coalition, this event brings together local organizations from the Cambodian, Laos, Burmese, Thai, and Vietnamese community to partake in dance, music, food sampling, and historical appreciation.

Various ethnic food is distributed from the Southeast Asian cultures including the Burmese Tea Leaf Salad, Pad Thai, Larb Gai, mooncake, and many more. Guests can also partake in cultural exhibitions where they can learn about the history and lifestyle of different cultures. Musical and cultural performances take place on the stage outside, where guests can enjoy all day entertainment while relishing in the beautiful San Francisco sun. Performances from numerous cultural organizations from all across the Bay Area include: the Au Co Vietnamese Cultural Center, Thai Cultural Center at Berkeley Thai Temple, Khmer Angkor Cultural Dance Troupe, Lao Traditional Instrumental Music & Cultural Dance, Pan Pyoe Myay Group, SF Wushu Team, and Master Vu Hong Thinh.
